Plankton Electronics

Born and bred in Barcelona, Àlex Ballester has for over 10 years worked as a sound tech. Always interested to see what’s inside machines, he started to make DIY stuff: synths, tube recording hardware, stomp boxes, etc. Eventually he decided to turn this hobby into building his own instruments.

Àlex learned basic electronics at school, but without the internet and all the information published by many electronic and synth designers, he never would have started Plankton. His model is open access, everything is DIY, you can buy the PCBs and build them yourself. Schematics are published and the electronic designs freely available. In order to contribute back, to help ideas evolve.
