Sputnik Modular is re-established by Shawn Cleary of Analogue Haven with circuit redesigns by Andrew Morelli of SSF, so a very solid new foundation for this manufacturer. The former company was set up by Russian electronic engineer Roman Flippov, renowned in the synthesizer scene for his clones of old Buchla modules including the Music Easel 208 Stored Program Sound Source module, and his Sputnik eurorack releases were heavily influenced by these Buchla designs. The new iteration of Sputnik Modular has set an emphasis on solid design and quality manufacture and will continue developing these West Coast design principles.
